Listen folks, this is the real business world and there is always a choice when you
don't like
a company, you can walk. By that I mean, if a company really ticks you off, go to
another
company, like Canon. If you don't like that solution, call the 1-800-NIKONUS phone
number here
in the US, and complain. If that is still not enough for you, and I certainly
understand if it
isn't, go to the library, or Nikon's site, or call their number, and get the address
for their
customer service area and write a letter. (snail mail for many companies still means
more than
email) If that still is short of what you want to do, get the name of the President
of the
company or CEO, or whomever is a top dog and write him, or her, a letter. Be nice, be
sincere,
offer a very real and reasonable suggestion for how to change their policy or
whatever, that
would be good for them and you. Do that with any real problem with any company. It
often
works and means much more than hoping somebody of importance reads your letter in a
newsgroups. I have done this with Alfa Romeo and gotten a replacement car, and Leica,
and
received a free extended warranty among others. I was polite, honest, explained the
situation
and suggested a reasonable solution to the problem. They agreed. Try it. It often
works for
both parties. I rave about the Leica company now and, to tell the truth, have had
very good
response from 1-800-NIKONUS, yet do agree about my one encounter with their traveling
demo
rep.
