I think this is a good action on docs. I also don't think it precludes a Wiki. I'd love to see Nim have an official docs team that can curate and update content. It'd also be nice if there were a separate place where doc requests are managed from-- the concern I'd have would be providing visibility and transparency where possible; managing from chat history is not going to do that. > Compared to a wiki: similar low barrier of entry on raising issues, but you > don't have to worry about the documentation degrading due to haphazard edits. That's definitely a real concern w/ a Wiki, and having new people searching and trying to use stale docs could become an issue. I think that's another reason to try to have an official doc team, ideally seeded with one person you know would give it enough time and be enthusiastic enough about it.
