[Ironic counterexample](https://github.com/HaxeFoundation/haxe/tree/development/src) The irony of course is that the Haxe compiler is written in an impure functional programming language with an OO extension and there is little or no use of the OO part at all. OK, not really a counterexample as a counterpoint, but still interesting.
