I'm talking about reading level. At home I have a 12 year old and a 13 year
old. The book would simply be boring to them. The Ada book I used was more
interesting, and it wasn't enough to hold their attention.

As a book for beginners, fine, though again, I think it important to get into
things that would interest the audience first. I have Dominic Pincheta's book
and I like it a lot, but near the end he gets into that web application that
simply doesn't interest me, so that I, who have been programming for 30+ years,
quit reading at that point. That's not a knock on Dominic's book, not at all!

My point it, know your audience. I don't think this book is appropriate for
children, even for younger teenagers. If you want to write a book for children,
IMHO it needs to be simpler, with less discussion about the types of
programming languages front-loaded, and more things to capture their attention
from the start, preferably using graphics as soon as possible.
