I my humble opinion, both of these features are due to the fact that much of the
their work is done by the kernel and a shell.  So that for example, there isn't
a lot of code to parse and write folders and, for another example, everytime
there is a new shell feature, be it typing look-head, mouse selection of text,
history, or whatever, that feature becomes an nmh feature.
