There is another bug that makes this plugin rather frustrating to use for me:

I have CIFS shares (windows file shares) mapped to drives X and Y, yet the order
that directories are in seems completely random and not alphabetical (local
drives appear to be fine). The development environment I work in uses huge
directory trees and when trying to navigate to specific dir it takes ages and
becomes quite laborious.

Thanks!

Slo,George

Sorry I goofed up in my first response. Proper procedure is here,

FOLDING

This is controlled through View >> 'User define dialog'. In the new language
definition, assign ` to Folder Open Keyword setting and `` to Folder Close
Keyword
Setting.

This should fold the text within ` and ``.

OUTLINE OF FOLDED TEXT

For this you need Function List plugin. Go to Plugins >> Function List >> User
Rules. Select your language (e.g. TxT) in the Language dropdown; click Edit
Rule.

Decide on some charater or characters to define your function start and body
end; I use back-quotes (i seldom use this character) and double back-quotes
respectivley. My rule looks like this:

Function begin: `
Function list name: .*$ (this will list all characters till end of line as
function
name in Function list window; serves to name the outlined text block).
Body end: ``

> v4.0.2 is SOMETIMES very slower than v3.9 especially when I was editing some
c source files, not very bigger file, around 3500 lines. it never happened on
v3.9.

Some updates about this issue after I reversed back to v3.9, it's now quite
obvious the Function List window slows down N++ (even with v3.9). Whenever I
enable function list and edit a large .c file, it becomes very slow while
editing.
It works fast if no function list there.

I like the reload on file change function in Notepad++ but an option to make
it auto reload would be nice. Something simmilar to tail -f file. Would that
be hard to implement?

Mathias

If you open the Preferences dialog and look in the "MISC" tab there is an option
under "File Status Auto-detection" called "Update silently". I think this is
what you are looking for.

I have just started using Notepad++ and have been absolutely delighted with
it. In the course of using it, I have come across 3 issues, and wonder if they
can be fixed.

1.Python Coloring:
In the Style configurator, I set the color for String to Green and that for
Character to Purple. I find that strings delimited by one or three double quotes
(e.g. "Hello" or """Hello""") or triple single quotes (e.g. '''Hello''')are
colored green, while strings delimited by single quotes (e.g. 'Hello') are
colored
purple. It appears that single quoted strings of any length are being identified
as characters.

2a. Explorer
If I select Plugins > Explorer > View Explorer, I get a tree view in an upper
pane with all directory names visible, but the lower pane (contents of the
chosen
directory) does not display any directory or file names. I tried various options
on Plugins > Explorer > Explorer Options, but could not correct this behavior.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?

2b. Explorer
On the dialog that is brought up from Plugins > Explorer > Explorer Options,
the two buttons are marked OK and Abbrechen. Is it possible to change Abbrechen
to Exit in the English version of Notepad++?

Sincerely

Thomas Philips

I hope this has not been asked.. I am interested in a multi-line search and
replace like that of EditPad/EditPadPro. Is there such a functionality like
that in NotePad++?

Thanks,

Kent
