Try to download zip-archive file instead of exe-installator. The cause of your
problem is the following: Notepad++ for some reason can't find SciLexer.dll
(text editing library) and langs.xml (highlighting options). These files usually
are placed in the same path (folder) as Notepad++.exe file.

Main menu: Plugins -> ConvertExt -> Options -> (Notepad++) Line Numbers menu
item.
Enjoy :-)

Hello!
Maybe I don't get something completely, but I think this is like a bug...
The editor lack in recognition of files which are saved as UTF-8 without BOM.
Even when in Notepad++ v.4.0.2 I make for example new file with text "abc" and
then I save it as ANSI with UTF-8 without BOM checked. after that close file
in editor and reopen it, after that file is recognized as ANSI but not ANSI
as UTF-8. If I use some special characters like russian letters in file then
after saving, closing and opening everything works fine, but if standart simbols
and only english letters are used recognition doesn't work.
P.S. For example PSPad and some other editors somehow managed this problem.
But otherwise great editor, thanks :)

Yes, I think it would be great if NPP could be made into a portable or u3 (or
both!) app. It would be a handy program to have easy access to on a thumb drive.
Does anyone agree?
