[~anikosss] Absolutely, no rush. I haven't actively coded on Log4j2 for a 
while, but I believe {{release-2.x}} is the branch for the latest releases, 
while {{master}} is for the upcoming log4j 3.0 (which may still be some time in 
the making). You can either provide PRs for both branches or just for master 
and we can cherrypick it to release-2.x.
