@ppkarwasz I think an enum, fits our need, as it symbolizes a "collection"
of values (i.e. the named-patterns) which you can do certain operations on them
like traversing, mapping from string to `enum` literal and vice versa, hold
values (in Java at least)..
So if there is no objection, can you approve this PR? is something missing?
