GitHub user nmalonzo added a comment to the discussion: Akka to Pekko Migration
Rollback

Thanks again for the reply. My main question with Akka Pekko compatibility is
will it work and be stable indefinitely? My plan is to indefinitely keep two
versions of a persistent Actor (Akka and Pekko) until such time I have migrated
all state information to the Pekko actors. Some actors have a lot of state info
as well as heavy live traffic. With this I dont think I will have a problem
with snapshots. The Akka actors should be persisted as Akka actors. If I need
to rollback migration, the Akka actors need only query their Pekko counterpart
for the latest state info and take back the “live” status. No problem with
snapshot.

My main question is can Akka and Pekko actors coexist on the same cluster
indefinitely? As you can see this is not something that can be tested fully in
a test environment. I might try out my live migration method on a test cluster
but I can run it feasibly for just a few hours. What if it works in a test
cluster. Am I assured that it will work indefinitely in my production cluster
where the Akka and Pekko actors should be able to coexist for a month or three
while my slow migration method is happening?
