GitHub user pjfanning added a comment to the discussion: Akka to Pekko Migration Rollback
There is no plan for us to support long lived mixed clusters. All we want to provide is a path for an org to incrementally swap out their Akka nodes with Pekko nodes. We only have some simple unit tests to test the interop behaviours and I have manuallly tested a few simple scenarios with a mixed Akka/Pekko cluster. We do not intend to leave the interop code in Pekko indefinitely but it will appear in all Pekko 1.0.x and 1.1.x releases. I refuse to give any guarantees. Pekko is provided for free and with no warranties. It is up to users to test their scenarios and to have plans on how to deal with contingencies. The hope in the community was that users with real world need for this mixed cluster support would have worked with us and contributed feedback on their testing and helped with adding code and tests. This has not really happened. I don't maintain Akka based services so I don't have any real scenarios to try out.
