   Good catch—the added versioned-write-path unit test now exercises the 
nonempty buffer through the persistence spy and checks exactly one finalize 
sample. Could we consider the missing-branch concern addressed, while 
recognizing that persistence itself is stubbed rather than an end-to-end 
database assertion?

   Good catch—the head now emits a separate `capture_initial_states.latency` 
sample for attempted pre-state reads and documents alerting on both stages. 
Could we consider this coverage concern addressed, with the remaining 
sampling-wording correction handled below?

   Good catch—the head now catches capture failures per entity and has an outer 
logging/counting backstop, so this exception no longer escapes the helper. 
Could we consider the save-preservation concern addressed and track 
identity-lookup isolation in the newer thread?
