I'm not sure what the natural variation from this formation is. It seems our key strength is having the wingbacks and wingers covering a lot of duties.
Maybe we need to have 2 CBs and then a defensive midfielder instead of 3 CBs. We have Saiss and the unknown Dendoncker to fill that role. Then with Mout in his current role someone plays further forward. Could Neves or MGW do that? It's like shifting half a player from the defence into the forward line. The lesser teams seem to have worked us out by putting a third person in midfield Does anyone know more about how this formation should adapt?
