Ok. I may found something. Samba marks the small files as sparse but not 
the large ones. Samba is wrong, the small files are not sparse (often they 
are stored in their inodes, that's why they occupy 0 bytes -- the disk 
space is counted in the $MFT file). Probably its heuristic fails which can 
be also due to the sometimes incorrect ->st_block we discussed earlier.

Sparse file handling is transparent for apps but maybe activesync checks 
the relevant file attributes and reject anything the coders didn't want to 
implement.

Our task could be to make samba believe that the small files are not spare. 
Maybe this can be configured somewhere, maybe not. Meanwhile I'll check why 
samba guess this attribute wrongly.
