Solved...

Apparently this was due to libfuse.so.2.6.3 being installed in
/usr/lib64 and libfuse.so.2.6.1 not being uninstalled from
/usr/local/lib with the consequence that I compiled ntfs-3g
with fuse.2.6.3 headers, and linked for use of libfuse.so.2.6.1
There must have been an API change related to timestamps
between the two versions.

After manually removing files related to fuse.2.6.1 and
recompiling ntfs-3g, timestamps appear to be updated
correctly.

Coexistence of 32-bit and 64-bit shared objects in the same
machine requires that they are located in different paths, but
makefile's and spec's sometimes forget about it with
unforeseen consequences.
