I'm trying to run a long running traffic monitor for my home network using
the Raspberry Pi as the analyzer from a mirrored port on a Netgear GS108
Plus switch.

As I understand the ntopng architecture, ntopng needs a separate feeder to
convert the packet feed from the mirrored port into NetFlow/IPFX format --
(unlike, I believe, the original ntop which had the feeder built in ). The
standard ntopng tooling is to use nprobe. I can't find nprobe for the
Raspberry Pi and it appears that nprobe is a proprietary tooling even if I
could find it for the Pi.

So my question is can I used an open source feeder? In particular is
Vermont (https://github.com/constcast/vermont/wiki ) a suitable feeder for
ntopng and if not are there any to be recommended ?

BTW I've managed to successfully build ntopng for the Raspberry Pi (with
some help from the ntop-dev list); I'm currently trying to build Vermont
but it is a very slow build indeed.

Thx for any help.
Neil
