Now, you must be kidding?  Win2K Pro, NT4 Workstation, do NOT support raid.  Don't know about XP, but I would assume the same.

Did you mean your comments as a joke, Benjamin?

I hope this was meant as some kind of joke. Being an MCSE and Support Specialist you should know that Winxp PRO does in fact have RAID-1 much like Win2k PRO has it, and WINNT4.0 has it..

Again Sean, it does support software raid1, I am using it on XP RC2 -2526 and XP 2565? or whatever their full version is

Good Luck

XP does not support it, but Windows 2002 Server (Advanced, Datacenter, etc.) will.

I'm somewhat familiar with the Pro's and Con's, but thanks for the info :o) I also know the procedure for disk mirroring, I just needed to know if XP supports it as W2k Pro does not.

Thanks again!

Warning: If you want disk mirroring (or any software RAID under W2K) you HAVE to use dynamic disks, and once they're dynamic there's NO going back.  Your familiar disk utilities may no longer work, and you have now forsaken partitions for volumes.  Good luck. ;)

Fire up Computer Management (from Administrative Tools, or right-click on My Computer and pick Manage), and click on Disk Management.  In turn, right click on the hard drives you want to mirror and select "Upgrade to Dynamic Disk...".  Once your disks are dynamic, right click on the simple volume you want to mirror, select "Add Mirror..." and follow the wizard.  Remember that you can only mirror simple volumes, not a spanned volume or similar.
