What's more of a safe bet - that they have a dedicated security team doing 
real time monitoring, or that the average SMB does?  Or even large 
business - it never fails to surprise me the low priority put on security 
by business since it's a "burden".

Now I wouldn't assume that a managed service provider does have a security 
team (due diligence is still your responsibility) but I wouldn't pick one 
that didn't.
