a) What scanner? b) How is it connected to the user's PC?
c) What has changed since yesterday? d) What is the setup (OS etc.) of the user? e) Are other people able to use the scanner successfully? f) What troubleshooting steps have you applied? The lack of information is astounding. I'm sure we've all had problems in the past, but in the case it could be anything from rats chewed through the cable to the scanner, to aliens stole the scanner, to the scanner has just had a hardware failure.
