I thought the hotfix was installed on the machine used to edit/create the GPP? The software update changes the values that are used for the internal filter for Internet Explorer 8 so that the settings also apply to Internet Explorer 9. To do this, the update that is described in this KB article must be installed on the computer where you edit the policy settings. I was so po'd at the whole IE9 gpp/IE maint issue that I lost it. Plus the KB is a bit vague on where it goes, but I do not think it needs to go on the desktops. One thing I did notice, after you do the hotfix you need to create a new GPP....it does not retroactively fix an existing GPP.
