but those sites say it uses any port between 1024 and 65535 to make outgoing calls.... and I don´t want to allow all these ports as some of said sites suggest...
BUT, as the customer first states that they want a firewall, and block sites, allowing just those that they approve, and then start asking to permit hotmail, gmail, msn messenger, skype, yahoo, etc, maybe I shouldn´t care that much if too much ports are open... <grin> ----- Original Message ----- From: "Benjamin Zachary - Lists" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "NT System Admin Issues" <ntsysadmin@lyris.sunbelt-software.com> Sent: Monday, June 16, 2008 11:43 AM Subject: RE: ISA 2006 and allowing SKYPE a quick google says in the skype config you can set it to a particular port 25000-40000 to use. So set it and then you should be able to go from there. -----Original Message----- From: Silvio L. How do I permit it to pass through the ISA firewall ? Currently, only approved sites are allowed to be accessed , so that I have to explicitly allow it to work. But the recomendations in skype´s site, and on some forums, are to allow all traffic from that machine to and from the internet, and things like that, and I wouldn´t like to do this. Is there a way to make skype behave like a serious software, or due to it´s inheritance from a p2p file sharing tool it just cannot be made to work like this?
