We'll have to agree to disagree on this one. I know of hundreds (and I'm not 
that well connected) who voted for him simply because of his race. They didn't 
know a thing about his policies (and let's face it, he has no track record to 
speak of) but they wanted to "help make history".

I think it's progress that people DID look past color and voted for the best 
candidate.  10 years ago, I think he would have lost no matter who he ran 
against because of his skin color regardless of qualifications.

I don't think people voted for him BECAUSE he is black.
