I was playing with the csvde tool getting some settings out of AD last week and there are about 7200 objects total in AD. The only thing that I'd add is some time in between each of those steps for replication etc.. (this could be depending upon how big the OP's environment is) wasn't stated in your message, although could be that it was implied. I am building a server to replace it. I need to know how to determine what roles this server has so I can be sure to get them on the new server. What is the best practice to replace a DC and to migrate the roles??? This email and any attached files are confidential and intended solely for the intended recipient(s).
