My first car was a 72 Nova SS 350; 4 bbl. Didn't have a Hurst, tho, so it
tended to lock going from 1st to 2nd. Otherwise, great car.

The week I came home from VN my
dad co-signed for a 69 Nova SS 350. It was $3300.00 out the door. Beefed it
up some (650cfm Holly, Hurst shifter, Headman Headers with Thrush mufflers, ¾
race
cam, Detroit Locker clutch, 4:13 rear end, fat tires, Crager wheels ) and loved
that car…it was sweet looking and fast! Wish I would have kept it. Gas
was less than 50 cents a gallon then.

I
had a 1976 TransAm that I pulled out the unleaded plug in the fill neck and
removed the catalytic converter so I could use leaded because it was cheaper
for a poor High School student.

Even better was when they
we’re phasing out Regular gas. I had a 1970 Firebird and remember paying
$.40-45 per gallon for my Junior year in High School.

Yep..
Remember all of it.

Except
gas was about $0.75 when I started driving.
