Wow...I was buying memory from memory4less back in the mid-90's during
my first real IT gig. Didn't know they were still kicking.

A little late in the discussion, but +1 for Crucial - I've bought TONS
of memory from them over the past 10 years, and not once do I recall an
issue.

OTO, I thought I found a better source (because of price) in
http://www.memory4less.com/ ...

I tried them a few times, but 2 out of 3 orders they sent me memory that
didn't work, even though the memory selector specified memory for my
exact system. They made it right every time, but it wasn't worth the
hassle. I went back to crucial and haven't looked back.

As for other system components, my favorite site of all time is
http://shopper.cnet.com

If you know your part number, plug it in there, and you get a whole list
of shops online that provide the price, along with total for shipping.
Sometimes Newegg has the best price, sometimes they don't. If I feel
like the shop with the lowest price is sketchy, I move to the next
lowest price until I find one I'm comfortable with. I've used the site
for about 10 years as well, and have never been burned by any of the
vendors that I've found through them.

If you don't care about having new stuff, then
http://www.serversuppply.com <http://www.serversuppply.com/> is good as
well.

I've found that if you use the configurator for crucial, kingston,

whatever on buy.com web site you can get the actual part # and have an

easier time searching for what you need.

I usually just order whatever's cheaper, from a name brand I trust,

and has a lifetime warranty. Sometimes its Kingston, sometimes Crucial,

sometimes PNY. Amoung the big names, they're all pretty similar.

Lifetime warranty, product select on website, etc.

Crucial's website has an annoying tendency to come up with P/N's none

of their resellers have ever heard of before, I've noticed.
