Thanks for the replies guys - I'll definitely give the ascii editing one a shot.
But, the question remains - aren't there (and shouldn't there be) ways to do this within Nuke using it's uv capabilities? I've tried projecting uvs in various ways throughout the years with limited success and lately I'm really hitting a wall with the way they work in nuke....anyone out there able to shed some light on these features? (i'm thinking project UV and the UV mode in a Camera in conjunction with uv mode in a scanline render)
