It seems to me that binary users are likely to be either less technically comfortable, or deploying a known and tested version. If they are in the former category, they will want the tests and sample apps. If they are in the later, they won’t. Is that a fair assessment? If I’m right, then maybe it makes sense to have two binary distros, one with the tests and sample apps and the other without. If you need to choose one for simplicity and ease of maintenance, then I suggest including them. My familiar users can remove what they don’t want.
