Rob, sorry for misreading the FreeBSD6.2 part ... was in a hurry! From your e-mail I deduct that your hitting problems while manually strating NUT

I have hit a problem with FreeBSD6.2 and NUT in that I can manually start upsd, but not automatically using rc.conf - the message I get for rc.conf startup is that the upsd.conf file is not readable - permission denied.

So my question is - is your upsd.conf file actually being read correctly? Our two problems could be related ...

Can you put a trace on how the file is acessed and values read and actually returned from upsd.conf?

Herman

The latter needs to be 'pollfreq', not 'pollinterval'.

Ok - changed:

root# cat ups.conf
[mge-nova]
       driver=usbhid-ups
       port=auto
       desc="MGE Nova 600VA on Bozo"
       vendorid = 0463
       pollfreq = 30
root#

Unfortunately it didn't seem to have any effect. I have taken a debug
of usbhid-ups starting up in case there is some info you need in
there. It's too long to include here so I put it on pastebin:
http://pastebin.com/882071

Thanks,

Rob
