Please try if adding the following lines to 'ups.conf' make any difference (you'd need to restart the driver in order to make these effective): pollfreq = 5 pollinterval = 10 Chances are that the behaviour will be different, since it will not use the light polling mode of the driver, but instead will query for all variables. Since this is a lot more verbose, you need to reduce the polling interval to something in the order of 10 seconds. If this works, you may wish to fiddle with the values, as long as you make sure that pollfreq < pollinterval. Another thing to check is the latest version from the SVN trunk. Note that the driver has been renamed to 'usbhid-ups' there.
