Chris A. Mattmann resolved NUTCH-444.
-------------------------------------

    Resolution: Fixed

Applied my revised version of Dogacan's patch (posted earlier). Tested a small
scale RSS crawl of around 20 or 30 rss files. Searching works fine.

This patch did not remove parse-rss. I'm waiting to hear back from other folks
about what we should do with it, given that we have the feed plugin now.

> Possibly use a different library to parse RSS feed for improved performance
> and compatibility

> As discussed by Nutch Newbie, Gal, and Chris on NUTCH-443, the current
> library (feedparser) has the following issues:
> - OutOfMemory when parsing > 100k feeds, since it has to convert the feed to
> jdom first
> - no support for Atom 1.0
> - there has been no development in the last year
> Alternatives are:
> - Rome
> - Informa
> - custom implementation based on Stax
> - ??
