Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     9/10: The Montezuma Muckrace was held this day. First reports list 170 
birds found with a winning total of 120 in the recreational class and 118 in 
the competitive class. Highlights were SEDGE WREN, LONG-EARED OWL, 
WHIP-POOR-WILL and GLOSSY IBIS.


Onondaga County
------------

     Many migrating Warblers were reported this week in many places. The bulk 
were seen on Tuesday and Thursday. 17 species were seen with highlights of CAPE 
MAY, WILSON’S, and BAY-BREASTED. At Three Rivers WMA  PHILADELPHIA VIREO and 
YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER were also seen.
     9/9: At the upper parking lot of the State Fair in Syracuse 2 AMERICAN 
GOLDEN PLOVERS were sen along with SEMI-Pl OVER, SEMI-PAL SANDPIPER and 
PECTORAL SANDPIPER. The Plovers were still present today.
     9/10: At the mouth of Nine Mile Creek near the State Fair a RED-NECKED 
GREBE was seen. At the upper parking lot a BAIRD’S SANDPIPER was seen.
     9/11: 2FORSTER’S TERNS were seen on Otisco Lake just south of Otisco Lake 
Park. A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen in Baldwinsville across from the B’ville 
Diner.


Oswego County
------------

     9/6: 8 species of Raptors were seen migrating past Bishop Hill Road north 
of Pulaski. 2 COMMON NIGHTHAWKS were seen migrating along the lakeshore. No 
location was given.
     9/11: 2 RED KNOTS were seen on the shore of Lake Neatawhanta in Fulton.


Cayuga County
------------

     A LARK SPARROW was found on the west side of the outlet at Fair Haven 
State Park. It lingered for over an hour but eventually flew west. It was not 
relocated today.


Jefferson County
------------

     9/11: A great day of shorebirding at Eldorado Nature Preserve in Henderson 
Harbor netted 14 species. Highlights were BLACK-BELLIED and AMERICAN GOLDEN 
PLOVER, RUDDY TURNSTONE, RED KNOT and WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER.
