GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE ROSS’S GOOSE OSPREY SANDHILL CRANE GLAUCOUS GULL BLACK-LEGGED KITTYWAKE SHORT-EARED OWL SAW-WHET OWL NORTHERN SHRIKE PURPLE MARTIN GRAY CATBIRD LAPLAND LONGSPUR Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC) ------------ 11/16:15 SANDHILL CRANES were seen at Knox-Marsellus Marsh 11/17: A late PURPLE MARTIN was spotted at the Audubon Center 11/19: A DUNLIN and a SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPER were the only shorebirds reported this week. Oswego County ------------- 11/17: A first year and an adult BLACK-LEGGED KITTYWAKE were seen at Derby Hill. 11/18: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was found at Derby Hill. A GLAUCOUS GULL was seen at Oswego Harbor. 11/20: A SHORT-EARED OWL was found at Derby Hill. 11/21: 10 species of raptor were seen at Bishop Hill north of Pulaski. Highlights were a NORTHERN GOSHAWK and a late OSPREY. also found was a LAPLAND LONGSPUR. Cayuga County ------------ 11/20: A first year GLAUCOUS GULL was found at Fair Haven State Park. Onondaga County ------------ 11/16: A GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was seen from the overlook on the west side of Beaver Lake County Park. On the Bog Trail in the park a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was found. Both birds were still being seen on the 20th. A late GRAY CATBIRD was found along the Erie Canal Trail near Green Lakes State Park. Madison County ------------ 11/20: A ROSS’S GOOSE was found on Woodman Pond north of Hamilton.
