Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)

     NORTHERN HARRIERS were seen at the Visitor’s center and along the Thruway 
pools on 2/25 and 2/28.







Onondaga county

------------




     CHIPPING SPARROWS were seen this week at locations near Syracuse 
University, Manlius and Elbridge.

     2/24: Another sighting of the female DICKCISSEL at Century Stables on 
Limeledge Road in Marcellus.

     2/25: A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET was seen on the West Shore Trail on Onondaga 
Lake in Syracuse.

     2/26: A SNOWY OWL was again seen at Hancock Airport in Syracuse.

     2/28: 2 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were seen at Oneida Shores Park in 
Brewerton.

     2/29: 3 ICELAND GULLS and 2 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS were seen in the 
Inner Harbor on Kirkpatrick Street in Syracuse. A CACKLING GOOSE was see on the 
Swan Pond in Manlius. It was seen again on 3/1.

     3/1: A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and a RUDDY DUCK were again seen at the 
Inner Harbor on Kirkpatrick Street in Syracuse.







Oswego county

------------




     The Hawk Watch at Derby Hill officially started on 3/1. There has not been 
any signs of migrating hawks yet.

     The LARK SPARROW found on Hinman Road north of Pulaski was seen yesterday 
making it 55 straight days. Yee-ha.

     A FIELD SPARROW continues at a feeder in Constantia.

     2/24: A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on Cole Road south of Fulton.

     3/1: A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen at the Marine Museum in Oswego.







Cayuga County

------------




     2/25: This was the last positive report of the TUFTED DUCK on Little Sodus 
Bay in Fair Haven.







Madison county

------------




     3/1: A NORTHERN SHRIKE continues at the intersection of Eden Hollow Road 
and Eaton Brook Road east of Erieville.







Oneida County

------------




     2/29: 2 RED-HEADED WOODPECKERS continue at Verona Beach State Park.
