Birding While Driving: Frequently in the last few weeks I've seen up to five turkey vultures soaring above Northern Blvd (25a) from approx the Roslyn Viaduct to NYIT. This morning there was one gliding over East Hills Chrysler Jeep (25a) and as I passed the old Pall Corp Building (next door) there were three sitting on the edge of the roof - one with wings spread and one harassing him/her.
(Last summer I saw them all the time too. Most notably on the Nassau Museum grounds as I stood over looking the western "lawn" next to the museum, four silently glided around, coming in very low to the ground. It was really very cool.)
