I sent Karl a (untested) snippet of PHP off list which should do the
same job...
if (preg_match('%^/reviews/(.*)$%i', $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'])) {
redirect('http://'.$_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'].preg_replace('%^/reviews/(.*)$%i',
'/review/$1', $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']));
}
Personally I find .htaccess is a relative pain to deal with so I like to
keep my .htaccess files as minimal as possible. If we are talking about
redirects, PHP does the same job, but seems to be much more reliable
across different hosts.
