Hi,

Maybe the answer is twofold, object strongly enough that Rawson will go
elsewhere and build so the greedy can make money.

Secondly maybe the foreign students should be told they must make a case with
the police, so we can get the correct statistics.

Regards.

Subject: [obsnw] New Rawson Development and Crime

Hi there

I’m not sure if anyone has considered the link between the new Paragon
development and an increase in crime in Obs?

I rent a room in my home to foreign students and the rate at which they are
targeted by criminals is alarming. My last guest was threatened with a knife 4
times in the last month alone walking to class in broad daylight and his bike
was stolen last week. The foreign students talk amongst themselves about the
crime and their experiences. They are considered easy targets and very seldom
report crime for various reasons. Criminals come from far and wide for the
opportunity to prey on them.

If the development goes ahead, and I understand that the development is geared
mostly towards providing student accommodation, we will have more students,
more criminals coming into the area and more crime.

Another reason to object to the new development.

Natalie
