There are no such plans at the moment. Personally, I find mailing lists to be far superior as I don't have to log into some web page to get updated on what's going on. In general, it seems like people have many great ideas on how to improve Octave and Octave-Forge, but few seems to be willing to actually contribute. At the moment, we are quite short on human resources. It seems that none of the regular contributors have had the time or will to investigate how a change to a forum would impact our "ecosystem". Unless, somebody performs a _serious_ investigation of this impact, I will not consider a change to a forum an option.
