The other convenience of mailing list is that I can have the 
same approach for all the different subscription I need.
As maintainer of octave for cygwin and of most of the needed
math libraries, I need to follow lapack, atlas, graphicsmagick,
glpk, fftw3 and so on.
Lapack and Atlas use a forum approuch and in my humble opinion
are a real waste of time in comparison to the little traffic they handle.
