It does help a little if you use the project options to place your output
files and DCU's in seperate folders. Pity we cant do the same for the ~
files and other misc files.

Subject: RE: [DUG-OFFTOPIC]: DELPHI WISH LIST

Thanks for doing this Aaron, and I have one suggestion that we have been
wanting for some time:

Our current project manager has has 316 forms, data modules and units, and
when we get Delphi 5 this grow as we add in all the .RES files. And this
is with the project only half way through it expected growth! Imagine a
project with 700 plus objects in it, and thin about how you might go about
looking for a particulat form.

What would be *extremely* nice would be for the Project Manager to be able
to manage the project sources in a more tree like manner. We would like to
be able to create groups of related forms and data modules and have these
hidden below a named tree node. This would collapse the current 316 line
monster into 10-20 grouped sets of stuff.

It would probably be even nicer if this could be extended to two or three
levels of grouping so that big projects can be navagated by functional
groups rather than just as a list of things. It is possible to impose some
grouping via nameing standards and the project managers sorting, but this
is extremely cumbersome and doesn't generalise all that well.

The implementation doesn't even have to be very posh. All that is required
is a bit more information in the comment in the .dpr uses class that
contains the group name, and the Project manager to be able to parse this
out and use it to create the tree parent nodes.

Cheer, Max.
