Depends on what "standard apps" are. The machine specs given are just
fine for a web or file server, maybe ok for light Office work and
email, and equates to our average in-house DB server (Paradox or IB
stuff) in recent years, only recently "upgraded" to around P800/256
or thereabouts.

But I wouldn't these days use a P233 to run UI or CPU-intensive
applications, nor those doing heaps of DB/data-presentation work. And
all our workstations are *way* faster than that; typically 2-4 times
the RAM as well.

Horses for courses, in other words...
