Sounds like Xtra'a email server is having problems and will be going down for "a couple of days". So perhaps these are the symptoms. I just heard from our systems guys that connections to their mail server are timing out.

If a subsequent message to the list gets sent ( the reply to the first one), and the link to your mail server is now working, then the second message will be delivered first. Unavailibility of a mail server can be due to many reasons - the link itself, the mail server being overloaded ... whatever, there can be many causes. Can you not order your email messages by the date time stamp, to get them put in proper order?
