Do you really need a static IP? Can you use a service like dns2go so that you have a static domain name that configures automatically?

Well I finally heard back from Paradise about my Static IP. They have now changed their story to "you can only get a static IP for a good reason". I thought I DID , but they didn't...ok, round oen to them ;-) Here is part of the reply from them :-

"A static IP address is usually given for example when a customer needs
to run a VPN connection or is running his own mail server."

Ok, now correct me if I am wrong, but you are not meant to run your own
"server" with Jetstream. Although Paradise did once tell me they don't
care if you do because they have no problems with it.

So now, I am left thinking, whats the point of me paying an extra $20
mth to stay with Paradise? Apart from the fact that I want to give
Telecom as little of my $$ as poss. ;-)

Hello offtopic,
I would have recommended Orcon six months ago, but their wheels have
fallen off in a big way. See:
