We`ve been trying to do more with the UGs [1] over the last year or so.
Sun kicked in some cash for kits (CDs, books, shirts, etc) last year,
and we are repeating the program right now [2]. That`s not sponsorship,
of course, but if an OSUG is going to hold a large event or a
conference, we do try to send them some stuff (if we have it at the
time). Also, Teresa started a thread on advocacy-discuss and
osug-leaders about other things the company can do to engage the UGs
more [3]. To me, this is an issue of not only what Sun can do to help
but also what the community can do for itself (along the lines of what
Mozilla does). It`s not directly related to governance, per say, but it
surely makes governance easier if we are all moving in the same direction.
