Normally I would tend to agree with you. However, unless there is a
non-profit dedicated to doing this for Open Source jobs, I'd worry about
giving preferential treatment to one or more recruiting sites. (For
example, if we linked to Monster, it would be viewed as an endorsement
of a kind.)
Setting up a mailing list for now is little overhead and little risk,
with some upside, and can be done quickly. Figuring out a long term
approach can be done later if we actually generate the traffic where we
believe it is needed.
