Teri, Ian and Sara "own" the marketing and PR for the OpenSolaris trademark, and both Sara and Teri gave +1's to the project proposal. (I presume Ian is traveling or otherwise out of touch) So did Simon Phipps, Sun's Chief Open Source Something-or-Other :-) > John P. have you cleared this project with the powers that be? Nope. You saw the entire interaction, up close and personal, in real time. I made my initial proposal on the OGB and Advocacy email lists. Teri, Sara and Simon read it at the same time as everyone else, and they responded to it in public, using the informal voting method as specified by the OpenSolaris Constitution. Just like it is supposed to work! (Whew) As I said at the Summit, there /is/ no "Sun" making decisions behind closed doors - or anywhere else*. There are only "Sun Employees", and you know many of us - Ian, Sara, myself, AlanC, Glynn, Simon, JimG, .... -John "Forgiveness is easier than Permission" Plocher ____ [*] although that lack of decisions may actually be part of a bigger problem, but I most certainly digress...
