Oh, it'll be D20, no question. Does it seem plausible that WotC would
produce a non-D20 game given that they've killed Alternity and that Ryan
Dancey has said that he wants to use D20 to eliminate competitive systems?
Besides, WotC has as much incentive as any other company to keep the
difficulty of switching between their games low. The only reason they
wouldn't make it D20 is if Lucasfilm insists on something else. Which isn't
impossible...WEG wanted to port Star Wars to Masterbook, but Lucas forced
them not to.

However, I agree with you that WotC will produce a book that's complete in
itself. It'll be a lot harder to market the game to non-gamers if they have
to go get a copy of D&D as well.
