People,
Could we please finish up all the wannabe lawyering over
copyrights soon? As someone who actually possesses a law degree (although
I'm not an attorney), I must say that I've seen very little useful
information being conveyed and a whole lot of uninformed opinions about
both copyright law and constitutional law being spouted. The U.S.
Copyright OFfice is on-line (http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/) for those
who are interested. And the question of the validity of copyright
duration is extremely tangential to questions of copyright which are
relevant to this list.
