Wait a minute--copyright is more important than Ex Post Facto? Yeah, right.
What SHOULD happen, if the trend you identifed continues, is the court
should strike down the last revision of the copyright law (or all of them),
and declare all such works that would be in the public domain, in the public
domain by order of the court.
