My concearn here comes from the carrot (to continue
the analogy) Once the donkey sees a garden of carrots
the one on the stick doesn't seem so desirable. If
another "OGL" is offered without this restriction,
there may be many who'll publish under it instead of
ours. I think the stregnth of OGL will be in it's
numbers and anything that encourages division weakens
everyone.
All of us want the same thing (I hope)--a strong
publishing "liscense" that allows the community to
fill it's own desires. I'd personally like to see
OGL/D20 do that, but Im afraid that the more people
see "You cannot..." the more they'll take their
chances with another liscense or even the fair usage
clause. And that's where I see the trouble.
On the other hand, I do appreciate you taking on this
headache and trying to hammer out something that
everyone likes. My opinions are offered solely to
bring up a point of view, not to condem the idea.
