And by contributing some back to the community at large, it is win-win-win, as the
original contributor, the one who made it possible for the product in the first
place, gets a new little something that he can play with as well. Even if he isn't
particularly impressed by the released product.

That would probably be me. For me the OGL is more than just a money making scheme.
It is a way for me to receive and deliver ideas to make the game itself one that I
would like to play. And by giving out my own ideas, it will allow others to make
the game what they want to play.
